Pig Roast at Wimborne Football Club 31/7/2010
There were 162 masons with their families and friends present at Wimborne Football Club on a gloriously warm and sunny day. Thanks to a raffle held by Tony Drake, who made a full size wheelbarrow filled with herbs which raised £400 and Phil Hoyle, who ran a Tombola which raised £250 plus a number of other donations we made a profit of £1500 which will go to the Bournemouth Masonic Group and I have little doubt much of it will go to the Knole Building Fund. On the day we had arranged for face painting, kindly provided by Phil Hoyle’s wife, as well as some goal practice on the football field and a good number of the children present partook of at least one of these activities. The pig turned out to be just about the right size and the vegetarian option proved popular for those who do not eat meat. The salad items went very well and the puddings seemed extremely popular. As this was the first event organised by the new Social Committee we are delighted it was a success. Please support your committee in any future events so we can continue to help the Knole and have fun with our friends and families whilst doing it.

The RMTGB President attends The Bournemouth MWA AGM 31/1/2010
It was almost a full house at Freemasons’ Hall, Knole Road Bournemouth at the Forty-Fourth Masonic Welfare Association (MWA) Annual General Meeting held on 26th January 2010. In keeping with the launch later in the year of the Festival in aid of the RMTGB, the Guest Speaker for the evening was the President, V.W.Bro Mike Woodcock, P.J.G.W. On his arrival at Freemasons’ Hall, V.W.Bro. Woodcock was welcomed by Bournemouth Group Representative W.Bro. Rodney Dale and given a guided tour of the building and museum by the Curator, W.Bro Mike Drayton. Before the meeting he also had time to meet and speak with a number of the local brethren.
Among those who were packed into the temple to attend the meeting were the Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Brian C. Bellinger, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, of Dorset V.W.Bro. George Cooper, 2 Assistant PGM’s and many local Grand Officers.
V.W.Bro Mike Woodcock’s talk on the work of the RMTGB was most interesting, informative and at times moving. It was greeted by warm acclaim by the brethren. At the end of the meeting representatives of a number of Bournemouth and New Forest Lodges presented V.W.Bro Woodcock with cheques totalling over £8,500 towards the Festival.
